Update: 4/7/08: We have made every attempt to contact Mr Bowe but no response has been forthcoming. Last weekend it was discovered that Mr Bowe had set up yet another blog this time purporting to be the work of our web consultant; Mr Chris Farmer.

As we are unable to contact Mr Bowe directly our only option is to demonstrate publicly the true facts about Mr Bowe.

A recent posting by Mr Bowe on one of his numerous blogs stated that:-

"This is what Tibetan Way claim:

"The primary botanical in Woman’s Choice is Dong Quai (Angelica sinensis), used in traditional Tibetan medicine for thousands of years."
.........
I approached the Tibetan Medical and Astrology Institute of HH the Dalai Lama, who are the premier and authoritive source of knowledge and training in Tibetan medicine. I provided them with the recognised herbal description, botanical name and images of Dong Quai and enquired if this herb was featured in traditional Tibetan medicine. The response was clear, their Director stated that, "this herb is not commonly used in traditional Tibetan Medicine"."

That simply isn't true; what the office of the Dalai Lama actually says is:-

"Some medicinal plants of the Tibetan Plateau, which are widely used in allopathic, homeopathic, Tibetan and Chinese medicines are; ......... Angelica sinensis,"

The Government of Tibet in exile website (site is maintained and updated by The Office of Tibet, the official agency of His Holiness the Dalai Lama in London): http://www.tibet.com/ECO/Green97/biodiversity.html

A statement that is repeated at the website of Tibet Environmental Watch - http://www.tew.org/wildlife/wildlife.biodiversity.html

If you visit http://www2.bremen.de/info/nepal/Gallery-3/Medical/8-26/Medic26-8.htm you will see an image of 9 medicinal herbs. Clicking on the white herb fourth from left in the top row will take you to a description of Angelica including the Tibetan name for this plant. The image is taken from a Tibetan medical Thangka based on original 17th Century paintings.

We realised some weeks ago that Mr Bowe has serious issues with separating fact from fiction and with the truth but to involve the name of the Dalai Lama in his falsehoods really is beneath contempt.

It would appear that Mr Bowe did not contact the Tibetan Medical and Astrology Institute of HH the Dalai Lama and simply made up a story to support his crusades against anyone who has any knowledge of Tibet.

It is strange that a man who claims to have been studying and researching into Tibet for some 20 years should be incapable of putting the terms "angelica sinensis Tibet" into a search engine. Had Mr Bowe bothered to do that he would have found the pages referred to above.

The only possible conclusions are that Mr Bowe is lying or incompetent or both. In any event Mr Bowe has demonstrated yet again that he knows nothing of Tibet, it's culture or language and that none of his statements can be relied upon.

We really do not understand why Mr Bowe persists in his attacks on us but we take comfort from the fact that Mr Bowe's recent astonishing attacks on the Dalai Lama, the Tibetan government, the Tibet Society, etc, etc means that we are in good company.

Update: 25/06/08
:  Yet again Bowe has been posting garbage on his blogs and re-editing them to retain comments that support his nonsense and remove those which disagree with his ludicrous ravings.

He asks questions but then makes it impossible for people to post a reply. As a result of this Stalinist behaviour we have now written a letter to him. We have been able to discover a number of email addresses that appear to belong to Bowe but to ensure that he receives our comments we have also posted it here as an open letter.

We would hope that Bowe accepts the letter and leaves us in peace to develop this site and continue to contribute funds to charities that support the Tibetan cause. If Bowe continues to harass us we can only take that as an indication that whatever Bowe may claim; the reality is that heis working against the best interests of the Tibetan people.
